出国签证问题
首先要准备的材料--156,157,158表,护照,I20,sevis费,offer letter,成绩单,GT
成绩,中信银行的签证费收据,还有resume,research plan或PS也最好带一份,如果
定老板的话,可以带一份老板的resume.如果老板给你写了support letter的话也可
以带着,不过这东西现在也没多大用了.身上记着带五六十块钱.
156,157,158最好正反打印,单面打也可以,只不过到时候黄牛会哄你说只能双面打.
这里还要提醒大家的是I20只能有一份,有些同学接受了几个offer,会有几个I20,这
样首先对自己不好,VO可以查到记录;其次申请的学校会有不好的映象,对以后的申
请人有影响.所以劝以后的申请人切只可接受一个offer.有几个I20的同学,如果对
方学校要求寄回的话赶紧寄回.
我是06年6月份在上海签的.事先也就简单准备了那个什么签证二十几问,那上面覆
盖的问题基本上就差不多了.早晨七点就在梅隆镇广场等了,大概八点四十开始放人
进去了上八楼.手机类电子和金属东西切勿带,否则会被叫下去重新排队的.到了门
口交了护照,然后核对后还回来就可以进去了.首先过安检,脱鞋,把身上所有东西放
入篮子,男生要解下皮带.然后就排队取号,然后在最里面1-3窗口交I20,护照,
DS表和签证费收据.然后在座位上等叫号,4-10是签证窗口,签证窗口顶部有液晶显
示屏,用于叫号.然后好像11或是12号窗口是领visa的.大厅里很吵,就像菜市场一
样.
面试我的VO是个JF胖MM,据说是个水车,不少人水过.到我的时候,问了去的学校,是
不是去读Ph.D,什么专业,导师是谁,然后要了我老板的resume,然后就丢了个粉条出
来,check.(pass是绿条)我就问她什么时候能clear,告诉她飞机票的日期,对方说大
概三四个星期.然后就出来了.
一般来说,据说研究生check的可能性很大,本科生1000pass的比较多.还有一些敏感
专业容易被check.下面一些方向被check的可能性要大一些.

大概三个星期后收到email通知clear了,打印了clear的通知信,然后带齐了材料又
一次去梅隆镇.check后clear的另排一个队,clear的大概十点钟才能进去.这次终于
领回了绿条,就直接去11号窗口办手续.这里说一下,不管是pass还是clear的当天都
拿不到签证.在11号窗口办手续可以选择自取或是EMS邮寄.自取好像交30块钱
吧,EMS好像是60,记不太清楚了.EMS大概会在一周内收到,自取可能到第二天或第三
天才能拿到.总之时间来的及的话建议自取比较好.
最后祝大家签证顺利!
